In the first, a hot August weekend, we went with ours parents to Bartlewo, a small village over Masurian Bełdany lake, close to the mouth of the Krutynia River. The area between Ruciane and Mikołajki is very much recommendable with a pleasant holiday climate, nice forest, hiking routes, free access to the Lake and beautiful views of the many of sailboats flowing along the Great Lakes.
